Color Correction for Mum's the Word
Director Robert Tsao's short comedy was shot in high definition in Panasonic's DVCPRO HD format using a cinema lens adapter for shallower depth of field. Most of our time was spent making the exterior night footage look "more like night," as well as darkening the interior scenes by cutting down ambient light while focusing illumination on the characters. While the DP did a great job with the on-set lighting, exposure curves and vignettes allowed us to exert added control to extend the evening look, with different qualities for different scenes.
